General Practice

Just because every dental clinic offers the treatment
does not mean they can all achieve the same results.

At New York S Dental Clinic,
even the same treatment is made more exceptional.

Periodontal Treatment

The leading cause of tooth loss is not cavities, but gum disease (periodontal disease).

Bleeding or swollen gums are often early warning signs of this condition.

If left untreated, it can destroy the alveolar bone that supports the teeth, causing the teeth to loosen or fall out. As a result, you may eventually lose otherwise healthy natural teeth.

Q. How does gum disease progress, and how is it treated?

Healthy Gums

The tooth surface is cleaned by removing visible bacteria and inflammatory deposits
 using ultrasonic instruments.

Gingivitis

Invisible bacteria and inflammatory deposits
are removed using specialized instruments,
and inflamed tissue around the tooth roots is carefully cleaned away.

Periodontitis

The gums are incised to remove deeply embedded bacteria and inflamed tissue,
and materials that promote the regeneration of gum bone are applied.

Swollen or bleeding gums — is gum medicine enough?

Gum medicine is only a supportive aid,
 not a fundamental treatment.

Why do dentists emphasize the importance of scaling and gum treatment?

Helps reduce bad breath and prevent cavities

Supports the long-term health of natural teeth

Covered by national health insurance once a year

Plaque and tartar are breeding grounds for bacteria.

These bacteria continuously irritate the gums and lead to gum disease.

Because tartar cannot be removed by brushing alone, scaling is the starting point of basic gum care.

However, like the tip of an iceberg, the tartar visible above the gums
is only a small part of the problem.

Scaling removes the visible bacteria and inflammation, while gum treatment goes further to clean the bacteria and inflammation that cannot be seen.
